Kenya Navy sinks 2 al shabaab boats,kills 10 in Anole

“1700hrs: Kenya Navy ship sinks 3 Al Shabaab skiffs(small boats) fully loaded with fighters moving South from Kismayu,between Kuday & Burgavo,” reports Military spokesman Emmanuel Chirchir on his twitter.

Details of the attack are still scanty but no survivors have been reported so war.

The attack follows another on Thursday in Anole ,Gedo region.The 6am attack at one of the strategic al shabaab logistics and training camp comes at a time when the battle for Afmadow is looming for the Kenyan army which has had a successful campaign so far.

“The Kenya Defence Forces carried out an air attack in ANOLE today 0600 Hrs. Anole is an Al Shabaab logistical and training camp,” Chirchir said in a tweet.

The Air force Raid left 10 Al Shabaab killed and 47 wounded,Camp was close to an IDP Camp. The was  no collateral damage reported on the side on the army.

Citizen TV reports that Kenyan troops  have killed 10 Al Shabaab militants and believes spokesman Sheikh Ali Raage is dead. However no confirmation has come in yet on the death of the fiery Raage.

Since the war began Kenya military has seen 6 soldiers die. Five crashed landed to their death in Liboi near the Somalia border and one succumbed to wounds sustained in the battle front.

The army has only come to face to face combat once since the campaign began.
