Kidnapped French woman dead as Al shabaab moves aid worker to Kismayu
The French government has confirmed that French hostage Marie Dedieu is dead. She was kidnapped by suspected Al shabaab militias on October 1 in Manda in Lamu.
The French government has learnt of the death through the contacts they were following to rescue her. Marie was sick and her captors had asked for her medicine to be sent to her.
Marie was kidnapped after two british Nationals were kidnapped. Judith Tebbutt was kidnapped in Kiwaayu and her where about are unknown.
The french woman who was on holiday in Manda with her Kenyan partner made Kenya raise the red flag against al shabaab and the ultimate invasion of Somalia on Saturday.
Sources also say that the kidnapped MSF staff at Dadaab refugee camp have now been moved to KIsmayu Al shabaab only strong hold. The staffs were kidnapped within the camp that has about 600,000 refugees from Somalia.
